Spanish Exploration of Contra Costa County

Do you want to Find Your Home in Contra Costa County?  Contra Costa County has a number of diverse communities and a rich history.  Contra Costa sits on the opposite side of the San Francisco Bay from San Francisco and Contra Costa means “Opposite Shore.”  Contra Costa County is one of two Counties making up the San Francisco East Bay, the other is Alameda County.

In 1772 Captain Fages led the first European expedition into Contra Costa County.  Failing to consult with a Realtor about homes in Contra Costa County Captain Fages missed an incredible buying opportunity in what has proved to be an up market for over 200 years.

Don’t make the same mistake he did - Search for Homes Now!

Captain Fages, Franciscan missionary Juan Crespí, 14 soldiers, a muleteer, and an Indian servant came across the bay and camped with his men on what is now El Cerrito Creek at the foot of Albany Hill.  The creek forms the border between Albany and El Cerrito, as well as Contra Costa County and Alameda County.

Captain Fages and his men then marched through the El Cerrito and Berkeley Hills in parts of what is Wild Cat Canyon and Tilden Park.  He passed on these scenic vistas and continued to work his way up the Carquinez Strait, then eastward nearly to Antioch before turning back.

By turning back Captain Fages missed out on incredible opportunities to Buy Bank Owned Homes at bargain prices in East Contra Costa County Communities of Brentwood, Antioch, Discovery Bay, Pittsburg and others.

Captain Fages and his intrepid band of followers worked there way through the very upscale Central Contra Costa County and camped in Danville on March 31, 1772 near the Alamo City line on San Ramon Creek.

Once Again Captain Fages passed on this beautiful Real Estate and ultimately settled in Mexico.  Captain Fages may have been concerned about job loss, death or disability and did not want to risk the financial investment.  He was latter sacked after a disagreement with Father Junipero Serra and latter fought with the Apaches.  If he had only known about our FREE MORTGAGE PROTECTION PLAN!

Contra Costa From Land Grants to Statehood

No missions were established in Contra Costa County, but 18 land grants for Rancheros were made in the Contra Costa County.  This was the first major Subdivision in Contra Costa County and many early buyers got there monies worth.  They might have done better if they had grabbed a copy of our Free First Time Buyers Report.  If you want a Ranchero, Condo or a nice Home in the suburbs you can start your home search here.    For over 200 years prices have been trending up in Contra Costa County Real Estate. These Land Grants and Rancheros carried over after the Mexican Revolution and independence from Spain in 1821.

In 1846 there was the Bear Flag Revolt against Mexico.  The Bear Flag Republic was established in June 1846 and by July 1846 the forces in California were fighting under the US flag.  The California Battalion and the US Navy controlled California until the formal annex to the US in 1848.

The Discovery of Gold in 1848 and the Gold Rush of 1849 led to large population growth.  If the original Land Grand owner had used our Free Investment Tools they might have had more profit on the Original Land.  As the many Home Buyers rushed in Searching For homes the sellers should have been using our 39 Day Home Sale Guarantee (If we cannot sell it in 39 days we will sell it for Free) plan to maximize their profits and get the property sold quick.

In 1850 California became a state.  Contra Costa County was one of the original counties.  On March 25, 1853 the southern portion of Contra Costa County was combined with northern portions of Santa Clara County to form the new Alameda County.  You too can carve your own little piece out of Contra Costa County by Searching of Homes Now!
